The UK-Canada Biochar Network was officially launched on 28 January 2013 at the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
The event started with a welcome speech from Willie Rennie (MSP). Professor Roland Clift (University of Surrey), Professor David Manning (University of Newcastle) and Dr Patricia Thornley (University of Manchester) gave an overview of the challenges posed by the implementation of biochar as an effective means to capture CO2.
Their presentations can be found here.
The event brought together scientists, engineers and studens who have an interest in biochar production and applications.
