Prof. Berruti, from Western Engineering in Ontario and member of Biochar Network, has been invited to give a talk on "Production Of Activated Carbons From Residual Biomass For Environmental Applications" at Heriot-Watt Univeristy in Edinburgh.
The talk will be held at 1:15 pm in room WP 1.10
"Could biochar be the new black gold?" is the title of a recently published article in the last Issue (43) of Carbon Capture Journal.
A meeting of the Biochar for Carbon Capture members has been held in Montreal, Canada on May 30, 2014.
The network members Franco Berruti and Ondrej Masek participated and presented papers at the Pyrolysis 2014 Conference which has been recently held in Birmingham, UK.
The partners from the Institute for Chemical and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR), London, Ontario, Canada, presented a paper at the Green Process Engineering Conference in Seville, Spain.
Current collaboration between the UK and Canada in the area of biochar as an effective way to capture CO2 has been strengthened by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Professor Raffaella Ocone at Heriot-Watt University (UK) and BioFuelNet Canada (BNF) and Bio-Char Network (Bio-Char) in Canada.
